Meet NCS at DSI Military Additive Manufacturing Summit

Posted by Katie Callahan on Jul 20, 2021 1:47:12 PM

NCS Is Featuring nScrypt 3D Printing Solutions

NCS is partnering with nScrypt and will be at Booth 18 at the Military Additive Manufacturing Summit, Tampa Hilton, July 27-28.

The Defense Strategies Institute 5th Annual Military Additive Manufacturing Summit is designed as an educational “Town Hall” forum, where thought leaders and key policy-makers across military services, defense agencies, and civilian organizations come together for education and discussion. This year’s Summit will focus on the latest innovations in 3D printing technologies and the push across the DoD to rapidly supply durable, effective equipment and parts to the warfighter on the battlespace. Additive manufacturing methods are being quickly integrated across the Armed Services to increase the current level of capability, while reducing the cost of parts, in order to deliver greater operational flexibility to the warfighter and further enhance the defense industrial base.

At this Summit NCS is featuring nScrypt additive manufacturing solutions. NCS has the exclusive right to sell nScrypt’s 3D manufacturing system product line to the U.S. Government, along with nScrypt. NCS Technologies also has nonexclusive right to sell nScrypt’s product line to commercial customers in the U.S. NCS services the equipment that it sells.

nScrypt’s exceptional precision and volume control solve a chronic weakness of 3D Printing: repeatability within tight tolerances. Drawing from the largest palette of commercially available materials, the SmartPump™ and nFD™ Material Extrusion tool heads can be used to combine plastics, metals, ceramics, and composites in single builds with exceptional tolerance and control. Using nScrypt’s changeable pentips as small as 10 microns, smooth surfaces with fine features can be achieved, without post-build smoothing.

"NCS is excited to partner with nScrypt at this Summit and is proud to offer sophisticated systems like those from nScrypt that are manufactured in this country and that are capable of advanced 3D Printing. A single tool can provide complex designs with multiple materials including metals, polymers, liquids and even bio-materials. These systems round out NCS's additive manufacturing portfolio and will greatly enhance our ability to meet customer needs," said Joe Andrews, director, 3D Print and Services.

To set up an appointment to meet at NCS Booth 18, or for immediate information or a price quote, please contact Kyle Stromberg at 571.405.1059.

NCS Is a Leader in Zero Client Solutions

Desktop Virtualization Provides Secure WFH and Work in the Office

NCS Technologies delivers zero client VDI solutions for desktops and mobility that are secure, cost effective and easy to use and administer. Maintaining strong security policies remain important as many balance Work From Home (WFH) and work in the office.

Experts believe that WFH will remain an important option.

NCS is a leading supplier of virtual desktop technologies for federal, state and local government, education, and military, and markets such as healthcare, finance and retail. In the last six years, our desktop and laptop solutions have been recognized for their strong security and effortless portability. NCS devices powered by Teradici software help IT managers maintain security and save money.

The Challenge of WFH IT Security and How Zero Client PCoIP Helps

IT managers understand that work PCs used in the home may be vulnerable to security breaches. It's common that work computers may be used by family members. In addition, a worker may not follow corporate security policies as diligently when out of the office. For many administrators, using zero clients is the best solution for security concerns.  NCS Zero Clients are managed by VMware Horizon software and use the ultra-secure Teradici PCoIP remote display protocol.

NCS Zero Clients have no local OS. The operating system resides in the data center. Therefore, there is no persistent user data, no patches, updates or antivirus software needed. Security concerns are addressed within the data center. Of the various ways to virtualize at the endpoint, zero clients prove to be the most effective solution. PCoIP is a high performance computer display protocol used in endpoint VDI. PCoIP from Teradici uses advanced compression to provide end users with rich content from the cloud or data center. PCoIP securely delivers applications or workspaces to the endpoint by compressing and encrypting pixels. More than 10 million VDI endpoints use PCoIP.  NCS partners with Teradici for desktop virtualization.

To manage virtualized endpoints, NCS recommends the Teradici All Access Plan.
