Zero Client Laptop at Cloud Expo Europe
There is growing momentum for moving beyond old-style thin clients to implement the latest generation zero clients as a part of the evolution towards Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). A good example is the UK availability of Cirrus LT mobile PCoIP zero client laptop, announced earlier this week. Cirrus LT is optimized for the UK market and is being showcased this week at the Cloud Expo Europe held in London - the biggest and best attended cloud event in the world.
If you are attending this event please consider stopping by Stand 126 to get a demo of VDI on the move and the power of the Cirrus LT mobile zero client laptop. At the stand you can meet Dave Nicoll and Jim Stuart who will be happy to demonstrate the superiority of zero client PCoIP technology over thin clients.
Let them show you how Cirrus LT will help you:
- Implement the strongest security
- Reduce your IT complexity
- Realize a lower total cost of ownership
VDI, Security & Zero Clients
A zero client has no local OS. The operating system does in fact reside in the data center. Therefore, there is no persistent user data, no patches, updates or antivirus software needed. Remember that with an embedded OS on a thin client, there remains an attack surface to invite potential mischief.
Let's not forget that the biggest innovation in the zero client space is mobility. Until now, zero clients were restricted to desktop implementations. If you needed to take your work down the hall or across the country, you couldn’t conveniently take your zero client computer with you.
