NCS, VMware & Teradici

The NCS virtualized zero client portfolio is managed by VMware and is powered by PCoIP technology for Teradici.

Zero Client Notebooks and Healthcare

NCS offers two zero client notebooks, the Cirrus LT and the Cirrus LT Plus. The Cirrus LT offers a 14-inch display, optional WiFi, a CAC reader and fingerprint reader options and an optional docking station. The Cirrus LT Plus has a 15.6-inch display, full numeric keyboard, and two 6-cell hot swappable batteries.  The options are numerous, including webcam, 4G LTE, WiFi, fingerprint reader, CAC reader, proximity card reader and docking station.

In a hospital, you can find these notebooks wherever mobility is prized, such as in a conference room for a meeting, carried to a bedside by a doctor and at work at a nursing station.

Zero Client Desktops

The star of our desktop portfolio is our Cirrus DT WiFi, which is known for its portability, manageability and strong security. The compact DT WiFi often can be found coupled to a Workstation of Wheels because of its strong networking capabilities in aisles, down long corridors and in patient rooms. At the desktop NCS also offers traditional virtualization solutions. The Cirrus TZ-202L and the Cirrus DT 5220 support dual display needs, while the Cirrus TZ-204L supports up to four displays.

We already noted that the portable DT WiFi couples nicely with a Workstation on Wheels. NCS has partnered with Ergotron StyleView to deliver a mobile networking solution that is designed for enhanced workflow and superior caregiving.

Teradici All Access Solution

As also mentioned, many NCS VDI solutions are based on Teradici's PCoIP virtualization technology. With Teradici's All Access plans, you get a complete set of remote access solutions, enabling lower IT costs and reduced admin time while giving users maximum flexibility. All Access securely delivers workspaces and applications from the cloud or datacenter, as needed. At the beginning of the year we like to showcase a few larger upcoming trade shows where visitors may visit our booth and learn about the comprehensive portfolio of NSC and partner solutions. Today we are talking about AFCEA West, which will take place Feb. 6-8 at the San Diego Convention Center.

West is the premier naval conference and exposition on the west coast, now in its 28th year. Co-sponsored by AFCEA International and the U.S. Naval Institute, West is one of the most popular events where the makers of platforms and technology innovators network, discuss and demonstrate leading solutions in a single place. One highlight of West is a town hall discussion among the Chief of Naval Operations, the Marine Corps Commandant and Coast Guard Commandant. In addition to the main program, there are Engagement Theaters, which are smaller, more intimate venues where military and industry professionals discuss hot topics and issues.

NCS Supports US Naval Academy

Earlier this week, the US Naval Academy took delivery of four 53-foot-trailer loads of HP laptop computers, accessories, HP printers and Hyundai monitors to support the upcoming Issue Day for the USNA Class of 2021 Plebes.

With close coordination from USNA Midshipmen Store staff, NCS designed and provided a configuration for the more than 1200 issue kits. This enabled the Midshipmen Store staff, with the assistance of NCS personnel (Doug Eacker, Karen Jenkins, Rick Goodman, Gerardo Trinidad, Darrell Patterson and David Snyder, in the second photo below) to accomplish a much more efficient delivery and setup of the product than in years past. This also resulted in a more efficient review and acceptance by the Plebe class. The USNA Mid Store staff and Business Services Division staff were very pleased at the increased efficiency and speed in which this very large project was accomplished.

NCS is delighted to have the privilege of supporting the next class of our nation’s and allied partner nation’s Naval and Marine Corps officers. The level of customer service, attention to detail and dedication to our customer’s mission shown on this project is just another day at NCS.
